Рецензия от Head-Banger Reviews на альбом A Cryo Chamber Collaboration «Yog-Sothoth» Many times people see the word “collaboration” and think it’s some small-scale thing that two or three artists come together to create a different sound than what they typically perform. But if you’re at all familiar with the label of Cryo Chamber then you know that the world collaboration means something special once a year. It means something epic, expansive, dark, and beautiful is coming. For the fourth time, twenty different artists have come together to proclaim their love for H.P. Lovecraft. This time embodying the entity locked outside the very universe: Yog-Sothoth.

Trying to encapsulate something that mysterious and vague as any creature fathomed by Lovecraft is an immense taste on its own, but created music that can embody the monster is another feat all on its own. Yet, somehow, twenty artists have come together for the fourth consecutive year in a row to produce a two-track two-hour long experience. That’s a fucking lot to take in just saying it, and listening to it is a task in it of itself! But if you have the guts to dive headfirst into this incredibly detailed world of horrors and mysteries then “Yog-Sothoth” is an interstellar trip that takes you across the boundaries of the universe itself to the lowest dungeon in the deepest cave that’s an ambient lover’s wet dream. These two tracks are simply mesmerizing in every sense of the world as “Yog-Sothoth” really explores all that is bleak and despair while also showing the cracks of light amidst it all for however brief a time. And don’t think that this monstrous album is stale by any means – no, it’s constantly breathing as these twenty artists really flex their muscles in ways that extremely, extremely few albums are able to showcase. “Yog-Sothoth” easily stands as the most stunning of the collaborations to date as everything comes to a malevolent peak with this EP in ways that only the most ambitious of minds could’ve envisioned, and it’s pulled off with absolutely masterful precision every step of the way.

I’ve always been a massive fan of ridiculously ambitious works like this, and my love for them has only deepened more as these artists have created something that’s beyond unique with their brilliant talent that’s only full display here. If you can stomach it, “Yog-Sothoth” is an amazing experience like few others and the kind of music that’s truly not of this world.
